On Saturday, Sergeant Margie and I got up about 6 o’clock and were out the door by about 6:15. We went over to the WPA Rock Garden for our walk because I thought with this being Father’s Day weekend, there wouldn’t be a lot of people there. The garden was open, but parts of William Land Park were already marked off-limits for something that was going on there later this morning… We walked around for about 2 hours, and saw a lot of pretty flowers. We also walked around the pond behind the garden, and I was surprised to see it nearly drained. The county must be getting it ready for clean-up.
On Sunday, I got up at 6:00 again and was out with Sergeant Margie to the American River Bend Park within about 15 minutes. Not a lot of photo-ops today, but the walk was nice. We cut off part of our jaunt because we came across a whole troop of Boy Scouts camping in one area and we didn’t want to get into the middle of that. We walked for about 2 hours and then headed back home.
