At the WPA Rock Garden

On Wednesday, after work, I took the dog over to the WPA Rock Garden and the pond behind it. Because of the hot, odd weather, we only walked for about an hour before heading home. The garden is showing of its near-summer blooms now (before the heat squelches everything), but I saw fewer insects than I was expecting. Maybe they didn’t like the humidity either. At the pond we came across a mama Mallard and her ducklings. Sergeant Margie was really good around them; he didn’t back or lunge. But later when we were walking back to the car, he wanted to chase a leaf. Hah! Mixed up little dog!
