I got up around 6:30 this morning and was out the door before 7:00 to head over to the American River Bend Park. I was going in search of galls and dragonflies, but didn’t see much of either. I did, however, get to see some female Common Mergansers and Cormorants, and a Snowy Egret fishing along the shore; and a Great Blue Heron and Great Egret both posed for me on rocks in the water. So, the trip wasn’t a waste. I walked around for about 3 hours and then back home.
