I was walking along the sidewalk in the city of Woodland, CA today with my coworkers as we headed to the restaurant for our annual holiday luncheon and I suddenly stopped dead in my tracks.  There in a cutout was a beautiful specimen of an Earthstar fungus.  I’m such a nerd, I had to stop and take some photos of it with my cellphone before continuing on.  Hah!
