Here I’ll be giving you information on some of my favorite places to walk in and around this region of northern California. Spots include those within a few hours’ driving distance from Sacramento, including places in Sacramento County, as well as Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lake, Nevada, San Joaquin, Placer and Yolo Counties and other surrounding areas.
All of the places listed provide either low-impact walking and hiking options, or a driving tour along with some form of immersion into nature. Most of them also provide adequate parking and restroom facilities.
I’m adding new places about once a month, so check back here often.
